There is hardly a reference to Sophie Taeuber-Arp in the village of Trogen in Appenzell Ausserrhoden, where the pioneer of abstract art grew up. There is only a small sign on the red family house. In order to approach the multimedia work of Sophie Taeuber-Arp and to find traces of her biography, a group of the Masters Transdiciplinarity Studies of the Zurich University of the Arts went on a 6-day excursion to the town of her childhood.
Through the lens of the field trip, students view Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Mai-Thu Perret‘s exhibition «Ich bin wü ü ü ü ü ü ü ü tend» at Cabaret Voltaire. They reacted to the exhibition with an alternative exhibition text and invited the public to a vernissage of their reading and performances in the Historical Hall on March 14, 2023.
